Enhanced Translation Review and Feedback Workflow

Feedback Summary:
While reviewing translated content, it would be beneficial to have a feature similar to a checkbox that allows reviewers to identify and flag specific segments that require corrections. Additionally, the ability to attach messages and send the flagged content to the worker's profile and email would streamline the correction process. When a translator marks a task as "finished," there appears to be limited or no access to further edit the document.
Proposed Feature:
I recommend implementing the following feature to address these concerns:
* Review and Correction Checkbox: Introduce a checkbox or a similar visual element alongside each translated segment, allowing reviewers to mark segments requiring corrections quickly. This could have a dropdown menu that summarises the issue with the segment (e.g. correct dialect and localised language, comprehension of the source text, consistency, accuracy, and punctuation…).
* Add Message Functionality: Enable reviewers to attach a message or comment to any marked checkbox. This message would serve as additional context for the translator, explaining the reason for the correction and providing guidance on how to improve.
* Send Feedback to Worker: Implement a "Send Feedback" button that, when clicked, compiles all the checked segments and their associated messages into a feedback package. This package would be sent to the worker's profile and email, ensuring they receive clear guidance on areas needing improvement.
* Editable Status Post-Completion: Allow translators to revisit and edit their work even after marking a task as "finished." This ensures they can address the flagged segments and make necessary improvements based on the feedback received.
* Acceptance/Rejection Criteria: Consider incorporating criteria for accepting or rejecting translations (dropdown menu with less than five options), encouraging translators to work consciously to provide high-quality translations and continually improve their skills. These criteria could be customisable by project managers or reviewers.
Benefits:
* Streamlined feedback process for reviewers and translators.
* Clear communication between reviewers and translators.
* Improved translation quality through collaborative refinement.
* Enhanced translator experience with the ability to make post-completion edits.
* Encouragement for translators to excel based on established criteria.
Implementing these features will significantly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the translation review process within Localize. It will also empower translators to improve their skills and produce higher-quality translations continuously.
Thank you for considering this feature request. I look forward to seeing these improvements in future updates and contributing to the success of your platform.

Hey Charlie!
First, thank you for the great feedback and creativity you've provided. I am glad to see such an engagement in Localize development and improvement processes. And even better, that your ideas are aligned with our team's.
Now, let me elaborate on our plans regarding your proposals:
- Currently, we are working on "post-editing" functionality. At the MVP stage, it'll allow clients to post-edit translations (reviews) submitted by workers and upload either their version of the file or the worker's. That will allow us later in the future to scale this feature and provide the same opportunity to workers to improve the translation based on their own opinions and/or client's requests. That sounds similar to your "Editable Status Post-Completion", "Improved translation quality through collaborative refinement", and "Enhanced translator experience with the ability to make post-completion edits" points.
- Feedback system and communication between clients and workers. First of all the general feedback with work quality ratings and additional comments is in the queue of the closet features to work on. We'd like to have it in Q4. Instead of messages later we'd like to implement them "comments and replies" system (similar to Microsoft Office and others). So, that looks like covering "Send Feedback to Worker", and "Add Message Functionality" points.
- And as an ice on a cake (based on the amount of work needed to be done that's the cake itself) we'd like to have a feature, which has the codename "ongoing project". That means. that we'll have a new functionality of continuous translation with the availability to renew the source file and send feedback to the workers. That will help us to cover such point of your ideation as "Acceptance/Rejection Criteria"
Please, share your thoughts on those ideas and ask questions if you have any.

Hi, Maksim! I’m already thrilled just by reading what’s coming to our platform; I can’t wait to see it all implemented.
I’m curious so I know better what other suggestions I can come up with.
Since the "post-editing" functionality will be available similarly to Microsoft Office, does this mean anyone would have access to the history of the changes made as well? (a comment functionality is way much better, indeed). Let’s say a third party of the translation wants to work only on the changes. Would it be possible to see only what was changed after the first translation submission (either by filtering or some visual cues)?
The ❝ongoing project❞ codename is also a good one; I believe it would be visible to anyone, so there is a clear understanding of the status of the tasks.
Thank you for replying to my suggestion.
